Guild Wars Crashing
My computer crashes when I run Guild Wars and only when I run Guild Wars. It is an Windows Xp, so it is a bit old. I am running a 8600 GT graphics card. I used to run GW within the last year without any problems. I've been told I need a new motherboard by a friends, but idk. This bold part of the error I get is what is bothering me. It looks to me (read; idiot) that I am missing a file from somewhere? I have done -image to make sure I am not missing any game files.
I can crash in any part of the game. Try deleting the Gw.dat file, it could just be a corruption of the file since you mention that it's -only- Guild Wars.
Or you can uninstall the game and re-install using the EoTN CD if you have it. This will significantly reduce the amount of files you need to download, you'll only need to do like 5-6k files which doesn't take long at all. |
